本科就读于南京大学生物科学与技术系，获得中国科学院海洋研究所硕士学位、美国威廉玛丽学院海洋学院博士学位，弗吉尼亚海洋研究所博士后。2012年加入自然资源部第一海洋研究所海洋生态研究中心工作至今。主要从事有害藻华（包括绿潮、赤潮）暴发机制、藻类分子生态学和热带海洋生物遗传学等方面研究。《Harmful Algae》、《Marine Pollution Bulletin》、《Chemosphere》、《Journal of Oceanology and Limnology》、《Acta Oceanologica Sinica》等多个国际期刊的审稿人。主持自然科学基金2项、青岛市民生科技计划项目1项、山东省重大科技创新工程专项项目子课题1项、所长基金1项、海洋局业务经费1项，另以骨干参加承担国家重点研发计划项目、973课题、中国东盟海上合作基金等多个项目的研发任务。
