The center is engaged mainly in research and applied development of different fields, including marine surveying and mapping, marine engineering survey and GPS control surveys with different precision levels for harbor, waterway, coastal zone, submarine pipeline route, oil well site and field, exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and continental shelf, In recent years, the center has completed more than 150 projects, including the multibeam investigation for seabed topography in the EEZ and continental shelf of China (national thematic project), the anchorage surveying and mapping for the Great Wall and Zhongshan stations of Antarctica, many international submarine fiber optic cable route surveys, seabed topographic survey for the Fujian nuclear power station, many projects for oil well site and pipelice route investigations of Shengli oil field, the environment investigation of the northwestern Pacific Ocean and the development of long-range USBL positioning system. The center has a grade A surveying and mapping certificate and is the director member of China Surveying and Mapping Association, China GPS Association and Marine Surveying and Mapping Speciality Commission. The center has 24 scientific and technical personnel, including 9 with senior title, 8 with intermediate title, 1 with Ph.D. degree and 6 with M.S. degree. |
