Qingdao Marine Engineering Prospecting & Design Institute is an independent corporate entity under the jurisdiction of First Institute of Oceanography, SOA, and a comprehensive marine engineering prospecting and design institution equipped with complete professional technique and advanced instrumentation. The institute has grade A certificates of marine engineering prospecting, surveying and mapping, and sea area usage demonstration issued by National Ministry of Construction, National Administration of Surveying and Mapping and State Oceanic Administration, and has been awarded the ISO9002 quality system certificate. Branch of Coastal Zone Development and Management of Chinese Society of Oceanography and Shandong/Qingdao Society of Coastal Engineering are affiliated to the institute, and the institute also sponsors the journal “Coastal Engineering”.
