Key Laboratory of Marine Science and Numerical Modeling (MANSNUM) State Oceanic Administration,SOA
The laboratory is engaged mainly in the researches on physical oceanography and related marine environment sciences and put emphasis on the exploration of generation and development mechanism of physical oceanography phenomena by means of mathematical and physical methods, field survey and experiment techniques to make their numerical prediction and forecast. In recent years, the laboratory has developed advanced ocean wave numerical model, ecological dynamics model and coupled wind-wave-current model, and has made leading achievements at home and abroad in the research fields of ocean wave dynamics, the Kuroshio, offshore circulation, tide and tidal current. Moreover, the laboratory can provide high quality marine environment data to the public, engineering and military affairs. The laboratory is equipped with a computer with a baud rate of 100BBPS, other high performance computers and advanced marine survey instrument such as CTD and ADCP. There are 21 doctors and 11 masters, which account for 65% of total staff members.
